A Thanksgiving Workout That Isn't That Much 'Work'

A Thanksgiving Workout That Isn't That Much 'Work'

That weekend is upon us. You know what I'm talking about. That weekend where family and friends who you haven't seen in a while come into town. That weekend where you swear you'll finally put away all your summer sports equipment and make sure you know where the snow brush/ice scraper is (spoiler: it's probably in your trunk, where you left it rolling around all summer). And yes, it's that weekend where you get together with the important people in your life...and eat. And when you think you're finished eating...you eat some more.

Under normal circumstance, eating like we do over the Thanksgiving weekend is not ideal. But, rules are made to be broken. Sometimes.

So, go and enjoy yourself this weekend. See old friends. Eat foods that you love. Catch up on some of that sleep you've been missing since Labour Day ushered in the unofficial end of summer. And, when you're done doing all that, try out this simple and quick (only 15 minutes!) exercise routine. Yes, it's from Buzzfeed (they're just like a peer-reviewed journal, right?), but the routine is a good one, and requires nothing more than your time, effort and preferably a soft surface or yoga mat.

If you're simply too full to even attempt this (hey, it's ok, we've all been there), try going for a walk instead. Get outside, enjoy the crisp fall air. Bring someone with you. Simple.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Have a wonderful long weekend.

Oh, and here's a link to my absolute favourite apple pie recipe of all time. It's easy to make, and yes, even the homemade pie crust is straightforward and simple. A definite crowd pleaser. Enjoy!
